The college was started with the following main objectives :

1. To create facilities in the North Orissa region for pharmacy education.
2. To establish a center of excellence imparting diploma, degree, postgraduate and doctorate programmes in pharmaceutical education.
3. To cater to the needs of the fast expanding pharmaceutical industry, educational institutions and research laboratories in and outside Orissa state.
4. To undertake sponsored research projects from industry and government agencies for which the college is well equipped.
5. To conduct research in emerging areas of pharmaceutical sciences and assist in the betterment of human health care.
6. To conduct seminars, workshops, conferences and continuing education programmes for academician and professional pharmacist.
7. To help the students so as to enable them to discover their latent qualities, born instinct, potential. So that they reach the highest goals in life and accomplish them.
